Simcha Krause
Public Speaker/Lecturer/Entertainer
Simcha Krause, eldest child of Holocaust survivors, developed a determination and comic edge
early in life. Rebel and class clown against the unlikeliest of backdrops - the Yeshiva - Simcha
opted out for a secular education at age 11. This momentous decision landed him at the formidable
De Witt Clinton High School in the Bronx, NY. A child of the Sixties, Simcha performed at numerous
comedy club open mike nights on both coasts. Like most of his contemporaries, Simcha became a seeker
and student of human potential, and in the late 1980's he found the perfect synthesis of his East-West
philosophies in the form of Kabbalah/Chassidus, Jewish Mysticism. It was the 25-year pursuit of this
profound philosophy, coupled with the details surrounding his heart transplant and comic background,
which provided the inspiration for his already published book, "Hey Waiter...There's G-d in My Soup!"
Learning Kabbalah Through Humor and his upcoming books, The 4 Steps To A Successful Marriage
and Visits to My Hospital Bed, the story about the Rebbe's blessing and Simcha's heart transplant.
Simcha lives in Passaic, New Jersey with his wife of 30 years and the younger four of his six children.
Simcha is a very funny, exciting and inspiring speaker. He will have the audience crying, laughing and
inspired throughout his talk. When he speaks about the 4 steps to a successful marriage, he literally
clears up problems that audience volunteers have had for years. When Simcha speaks about the Rebbe's
blessing and his heart transplant, he has people not only moved to tears and inspired, but also, and it
might be difficult to believe, crying from laughter as well. Another subject that people love is when he
speaks about how the world was created according to Kabbalah/Chassidus.
Rabbi Boruch Klar, the Lubavitch Center of Essex County says: Simcha (Sam) Krause gave a very
touching, sensitive and humorous talk at our Shabbaton. He had people in tears and in stitches.
He is a wonderful and very entertaining speaker. A joy to have. We will certainly have him back again.
Rabbi Mendy Kasowitz, Chabad of Essex County says: I recently invited Simcha (Sam) Krause to speak
at my Chabad House in West Orange, NJ. He is a heart transplant survivor. The best thing about this guy
is that he is very funny. People expect a morbid or sad, scary story when they hear “heart transplant
survivor,” but he is actually hilarious, with a great story to share. Truthfully, he had us rolling on the
floor laughing.
Rabbi Yitzchak Sebbag, Chabad of Passaic-Clifton, says: I don’t know how he managed to make such
a lasting impression on twenty 13-year-old boys, but Simcha had them telling his story and raving about
him for weeks afterwards.
Rabbi Avrohom Richter, Chabad of Howard Beach, says: Chabad of Howard Beach hosted Simcha Krause
for “One Shabbat One World.” Simcha delivered an interesting and inspiring personal story. The members
of my community were clearly moved by his life experiences. It was truly a delightful evening.
Simcha has taught Kabbalah/Chassidus as an adult education introductory course at Montclair State
University and has spoken and entertained hundreds of people in various institutions around the country.
